Space has always fascinated us humans, is there life on other planets? Non that we know of. Did man walk on the moon, there has been much to suggest that this event did not take place, but if that were so then how do we know so much about it, or on the other hand is it that we know so little about it. We only know that there are 10 planets in total including the sun, the Universe stretches way beyond this and lets face it man has only been to the moon. Many peoples theory is that there is life out there, this would explain aliens which have supposedly been seen. It is 40 years since first set foot on the moon, in 1969 Neil Armstrong was the first man to step into the Sea of Tranquility – which is also known as the moons surface. 1972 was the last time anyone stepped foot on the moon and there has only been 12 people in total to every walk on the moons surface.
There has however been many films made about space, aliens and man saving the world. Star Trek has become a global phenomenan over the last 40 years, in the early days it was Captain James T Kirk which took to our screens with his side kick Dr Spok, they were on a mission to save the world, space the final frontier. Star Trek soon made its debut on the big screen with John luke Picard taking over from Captain Kirk.
Armageddon was a huge box office hit and starred Bruce Willis, Ben Afflek and Liv Tyler about a comet which is due to hit the Earth’s surface and Bruce Willis and Ben Afflek are two of a team of men sent up into the space to save the world from distruction, it is a typical American movie where they save the world at the end of the day, but is a movie that has it all and people like films that have good endings.
Independence Day – possibly one of the best films of the 1990’s, this film is serious yet has some great comedy moments in it. Will Smith plays a fabulous part in the film along with Jeff Goldblum. The film is about Aliens attacking Earth.
War of the Worlds stars Tom Cruise and is also about Aliens attacking Earth, Tom Cruise plays a fantastic part in this movie.
There are many movies which have featured space in them and they can all be found on DVD films (DVD Filme) through the internet on online video library (Online Videothek). It is a great way of viewing and renting DVDs without having to leave the comfort of your own home.
